About the Role

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Logistics Dispatcher located in Asaba.
  • The Logistics Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that orders shipped are tracked from departure to when the customer receives them.
  • They would also analyze the data to look for lapses and fix them to improve delivery timelines.
  • The Logistics Dispatcher will also be responsible for monitoring the Drivers to ensure that they adhere to the company’s standards, company protocols, and company procedures.

Job Description

  • Oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of members of the logistics team
  • Direct and coordinate all activities of the logistics team as they pertain to the movement of goods and items across various locations
  • Oversee the coordination and routing of company vehicles for deliveries
  • Conduct direct dispatching, routing activities, and tracking of all vehicles in the region
  • Ensures that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations in collaboration with other managers
  • Conduct performance evaluations of automobiles in a timely and constructive manner
  • Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
  • Coordinates maintenance of the company vehicles.
  • Implements safety audits and trains staff members on safety issues
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
  • Reviews and analyzes expenditures and other financial information; uses the results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets for efficiency
  • Determine the exact fuel gauge for every route using the standard practice
  • Coordination and arranging of reverse logistics business on the return journeys to minimize the cost of delivery
  • Direct reporting to the departmental head on matters arising, with adequate sensitization on the magnitude of the matter requiring attention

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Business Administration, Transport Management or other related fields
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics and transport operations
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a managerial capacity
  • Professional certification in Transportation & Logistics is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with logistics software and systems
  • Knowledge of local transportation regulations and routes in Pan Nigeria
