Job Position: Accounts Intern

Job Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Internship (Full-Time)
Department: Finance & Accounts
Work Schedule: Monday – Saturday

Job Objective


  • To support the Finance and Accounts Department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • The role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and internal control processes in a structured and professional environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records, ledgers, and financial reports.
  • Support in posting journal entries, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
  • Help with processing invoices, receipts, and vendor payments under supervision.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Assist with petty cash management and reporting.
  • Support periodic stock and cash counts across outlets when required.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
  • Perform any other accounting or administrative tasks as assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timeliness and accuracy of financial data entry.
  • Proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.
  • Level of compliance with company accounting procedures.
  • Prompt support during financial audits and reconciliations.

Minimum Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution.
  • Must have completed NYSC.

Required Competencies & Skills
Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and numerical ability.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under supervision.
  • Integrity, honesty, and commitment to learning.

Other Requirements:

  • Gender: Male (for role balance and outlet support assignments).
  • Residence: Must reside within Lagos Island or its immediate environment.
  • Must be well-organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a structured business environment.
