African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Account Officer

Job Location: Ogijo, Ogun

Position Overview


  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Officer with a strong background in manufacturing to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations within a manufacturing environment.
  • The Account Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with the production team to manage inventory levels.
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and provide recommendations for adjustments.

Cost Analysis:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Work closely with the operations team to optimize production processes.
  • Provide cost estimates for new products or projects.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate financial performance and key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a reputable organization.
  • Proven experience as an Account Officer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Versatile Knowledge in the use of NavisionSoftware is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional qualification will be added advantage.
  • Below 30 years.

2.) Mechanical Engineer (EOT Crane Maintenance)

Job Location: Ogijo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check oil levels for hydraulic tanks for haggled units and fossil crane hydraulic unit make request for oil when necessary.
  • Check oil level on gear box for all conveyor add oil to ones with low oil level change gearbox which are faulty by replacing.
  • Check condition of conveyor rollers change faulty ones.
  • Grease all bearing parts of the machine to ensure smooth operation.
  • Amend belts and side skirt to limit downtime check condition of in feed conveyor rollers and apply oil to limit fiction.
  • Weld areas on the conveyor chute or side railing where material is stocked operate shredder when required to do so.
  • Remove nails and metals from conveyor belts to prolong belt life.
  • Make modifications on conveyors to prevent spillage.
  • Clean under mill shaker blockage during and after production.
  • Clear Z-box shaker and deflector during production when necessary.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees with 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience.

3.) Chemical Engineer

Job Location: Ogijo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Test Oxygen for purity and moisture content at various stages of process using burette and moisture meter.
  • Observe pressure, temperature, level and flow guages to ensure standard operation.
  • Adjust equipment according to test results and knoweldege of process and equipment.
  • Communicate with Shift In-Charge in case of any parameter’s abnormalities noticed to ensure that accurate condition of field equipment is maintained.
  • Maintained and record accurate, timely log sheet data of equipment and closely follow their performance.
  • Observe pressure, storage level, temperature level and flow gauges to make sure of standard operations.
  • Turn valves in specified sequence to control flow of air through series of units that compress and liquefy it, remove carbon dioxide and other impurities and separate resulting products into Nitrogen and Oxygen
  • Turn valves to transfer compressed oxygen to storage cylinders.
  • Running of cryogenic pumps as back up supply for oxygen and nitrogen gases.
  • Daily analysis of water samples and back washing of the water treatment unit.
  • Performing Daily Field Operations Activity.
  • Conducted daily cooling water quality analysis for process equipment.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees with 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience.
