Job Position: Procurement Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities


  • The Procurement Manager will be involved in overseeing and managing the organization's procurement processes.
  • This role involves sourcing and purchasing products, materials, and services from local and international vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that procurement operations align with company goals, budgets, and regulations.
  • The Procurement Manager works closely with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of quality goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best deals.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strategic sourcing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement of goods and services necessary for the business.
  • Ensure accurate and timely purchase orders, requisitions, and contract documentation.
  • Manage inventory levels, optimize stock levels, and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and ethical guidelines in all procurement activities.
  • Manage contract renewals and amendments.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget in line with company's financial objectives.
  • Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor and report on procurement spending to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and engineering, to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
  • Foster strong internal relationships to understand business needs and ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Analyze procurement data to inform decision-making.
  • Identify risks related to supply chain management and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and conditions that may affect procurement activities.
  • Prepare reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal regulations, contract law, and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
