Job Position: Backend Engineer Intern

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for a motivated Backend Engineer Intern to support the development and maintenance of our backend systems and services.
• This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced fintech environment, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to building scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other teams to implement features.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and team knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, security, and system architecture.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and API development.
• Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
