We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Reinsurance Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the analysis of risks for the purpose of business acceptance
• Analyze insurance risks for the purpose of ascertaining the company’s exposure and facilitating reinsurance placement where necessary
• Verification of all risks captured by Underwriters to ensure that all risks are properly treated
• Preparing offer slips and credit advice to Reinsurer
• Liaise and negotiate with Reinsurer on acceptance of the offered risk
• Ensuring that these risks are adequately reinsured
• Liaising with the Underwriting units to ascertain receipt of premium on risk so as to process premium to reinsurers on facultative outward placement.
• Responsible for the payment of premium on Treaty returns.
• Reconciliation of books with Insurance companies on facultative acceptances.
• Handling claim recoverable from Reinsurers by notifying them.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in an insurance firm
• Should have started writing the Chartered Insurance Institute examination (CIIN).
• Tact and understanding when dealing with claimants.
• Ability to show impartiality and zeal to maintain integrity.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
