We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Safety Officer


Job Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Inspections:

  • Ensure adherence to applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), safety manuals, and emergency response plans.

Policy Development & Implementation:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety protocols and procedures.

Training & Awareness:

  • Conduct safety training programs for all plant personnel.
  • Organize fire drills and emergency response exercises.

Incident Management:

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Develop strategies for mitigating risks identified during investigations or inspections.

Hazard Mitigation:

  • Evaluate and improve safety equipment and PPE compliance.

Liaison:

  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, local fire departments, and environmental agencies, for inspections and compliance.
  • Act as the safety point of contact for contractors and external parties working on-site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety & Fire Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering with Diploma in Safety , or related field.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience with the above responsibilities.
  • OSHA Certification in Occupational Safety or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).
  • Ability to manage and enforce compliance under high-pressure situations.
