Seven-Up Bottling Company Limited is one of the largest manufacturing companies in Nigeria, producing and distributing some of the nation’s most-loved beverages in the country like; Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda, Teem, Mountain Dew, H2oH!, Lipton Ice Tea and Aquafina premium drinking water. SBC has recently entered into the Home & Personal Care category with the 2SURE brand and launched its first product, a Hand & Surface Sanitizer. Seven Up boasts of nine bottling plants with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities strategically located across various regions in the country.


We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Safety Officer
Job Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

  • Responsible for ensuring relevant SHE resources and personnel are deployed to provide day-to-day support to departmental requirements. Coordinating SHE activities, within the area of responsibility and reporting as required to the SHE manager, performance, incidents and accidents and progress against sectional and factory targets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Safety Manager in the coordination of SHE Management Systems in the plant, head office and external warehouses in line with the company’s acceptable standards, OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 EMS
  • Assist Safety manager in working with HODs and administrative teams to identify occupational and environmental hazards and to introduce suitable controls in the offices and warehouses.
  • Follow up on agreed control measures to ensure safe work practices.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials across the plant, offices and external warehouses.
  • Assist the Safety manager in the communication of all relevant local/organizational SHE standards to employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Identify and support in implementation SHE program at the plant, head office, warehouses and contractor management.
  • Assist the Safety manager in coordinating hazard spotting, near-misses and reports of unsafe act in the work place.

Requirements

  • A minimum of B.Sc / HND in Engineering and Sciences.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant hands-on bottling operations
  • Ability to influence situations without direct control of resources.
  • Good understanding of HQSE modalities and codes.
  • Knowledge of bottling operations: Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Environment Engineering, Health and Safety
  • Must possess membership of ISPON (Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria) certificate.
  • Good understanding of GMP and GHK (5S) standards
  • Good oral communication, influencing and relationship
    skills.
