Job Summary


  • Participate in the review of both Structural and piping deliverables. 
  • Review CTR preparedness for site mobilization by ensuring that the work plan is robust and suited for the task. 
  • To actively participate in all Project Technical meetings. 
  • Follow up on contractor’s activities and ensure compliance with Project specifications. 
  • Ensure that construction deliverables comply with company specifications. 
  • Coordinate interface with the construction team and ensure smooth construction work. 
  • To support the project engineer in preparing the scope of work for any additional work. 
  • Reports to the Package Manager on the progress of Structural/piping activities

Main Responsibilities

  • Follow up Engineer’s activities related to structure design studies and ensure compliance with General specifications and with the requirements of the project documentation. 
  • Liaise with the contractor’s design staff as and when required to ensure efficient and timely resolution of all issues identified during site work. 
  • Monitor construction, and outfitting activities at the fabrication yard and during site installation and construction, hook-up, and commissioning. 
  • Liaise with other Company staff at the site and other locations for coordination of interface design and other activities 
  • Anticipate problems in their discipline and inform the Package Manager. 
  • Highlight and report any deficiencies or changes to the Contractual scope of the basis of design. 
  • Review and analyze planning updates including critical path for discipline-related activities; review and approve progress for discipline-related activities, and coordinate with Package Manager. 
  • Manage technical evaluation of the bids and prepare technical recommendations for the Package Manager. 
  • Follow-up procurement, construction, expediting, and assist in pre-commissioning related activities. 
  • Review and comment on Contractor documents within ten working days. 
  • Ensure that Contractor resources and organization are adequate and competent for achieving the discipline of engineering and procurement works. 
  • Prepare responses to all technical requests from Contractor and Project to add value by minimizing costs without sacrificing safety or the level of quality. This includes offering solutions and informing the Package Manager. 
  • Provide detailed assistance to the Company Package Manager on derogations, exemption, and modification requests. 
  • Undertake a technical evaluation of Change Order Requests for the parts related to the discipline. 
  • To participate in all audit activities at the Contractor base and site. 
  • Ensure close interface with Engineering and Construction contractor, participate and propose solutions through Engineering, Procurement Construction, Modification, and Commissioning to ensure delivery of the Project. 
  • Mark-up drawings on-site for purposes of preparing As-built drawings.

Educational Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (Structural or Mechanical Engineering) equivalent or more. 
  • Professional Experience: 10 years
  • Experience within projects: 10 years
  • Onshore Greenfield and Brownfield Project engineering and design experience 
  • Onshore Construction works supervision. 
  • Knowledge and application of systems and methods for structural materials selection and calculations. 
  • Skillful in verifying and validating third-party structural design calculations.
