Job Position: Account Receivables and Payables Officer

Job Location: Kubwa, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Days: Monday – Friday

Role Overview

We are seeking an Account Receivables and Payables Officer to join our team at Online Foodstuff Store Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer receivables, vendor payables, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and collections. This role is crucial for maintaining healthy cash flow, minimizing bad debt, and supporting the company’s financial stability.

Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Debt Recovery:

  • Generate and issue invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Implement effective debt recovery strategies to reduce outstanding receivables. 
  • Negotiate payment plans where necessary and escalate delinquent accounts for further action.

Accounts Payable:

  • Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and schedule timely payments to suppliers while optimizing cash flow.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Reconciliation & Reporting:

  • Perform regular reconciliations of receivables and payables ledgers with the general ledger.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Prepare periodic reports on receivables, payables, and debt recovery performance for management.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements

  • OND / HND / B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in accounts receivable/payable roles (experience in FMCG/retail preferred).
  • Proven experience with debt recovery and collections.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing vendors and customers.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems.
  • Must reside in Abuja, preferably Kubwa or nearby areas.

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
