Accountant

Expectations
We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on our business's financial position, liquidity and cash flows while ensuring we comply with all tax regulations.

Job Type: Hybrid (6 days onsite/month)

Salary: N200,000

Functions

1. Managing financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
2. Manage all accounting transactions
3. Prepare budget forecasts
4. Publish financial statements in time
5. Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
6. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
7. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
8. Ensure timely bank payments
9. Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
10. Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
11. Audit financial transactions and documents
12. Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
13. Comply with financial policies and regulations
14. Manage the Invoice Account Register

Requirements

1. Work experience as an Accountant 
2. ICAAN Certification is a plus
3. Experience working in the Travel industry is a plus
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
6. Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
7. Experience with general ledger functions
8. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
9. BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
10. Additional Certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus

Monthly Miletsone Bonus

The following targets are mandatory and consistent with our operating policies.

1. Update ledgers/Registers & execute tax and ensure compliance. a
2. Generate Reports for the month, quarter & annual including the Sales & Expense Report. b
3. Develop 2 accounting policies/SOP to improve our accounting and finance processes.c
4. Process 80 transactions. d

If superscripts A, B, and (C or D) are distinction rated, a “Milestone Bonus” is awarded for the month.
