Job Summary


  • ‎The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the company.
  • This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounts, overseeing budget management, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.
  • The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the company’s financial health and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
‎Financial Record Keeping:

  • ‎Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
  • ‎Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • ‎Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

‎Financial Reporting:

  • ‎Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • ‎Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • ‎Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

‎Compliance and Auditing:

  • ‎Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax obligations.
  • ‎Prepare for and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and
  • ‎explanations.
  • ‎Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

‎Cost Analysis and Management:

  • ‎Conduct cost analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • ‎Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • ‎Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial impacts of projects and initiatives.

‎Collaboration and Communication:

  • ‎Work closely with management to provide financial insights and support strategic planning.
  • ‎Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
  • ‎Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions.

‎Tax Preparation and Compliance:

  • ‎Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
  • ‎Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company.

‎Continuous Improvement:

  • ‎Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.
  • ‎Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant changes.‎

Qualifications

  • ‎Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ‎ICAN Certification as a Chartered Accountant is mandatory.
  • ‎Experience: Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

‎Skills:

  • ‎High proficiency in using ERP.
  • ‎Ability to generate wealth.
  • ‎Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • ‎Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • ‎Knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws (Excellent taxation knowledge).
  • Proximity to the location is key.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 Monthly. (Gross)
