Job Position: Accountant
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary


  • The Accountant/Bookkeeper will manage financial transactions, maintain accurate books, prepare reports, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support decision-making through timely financial insights.
  • This role is crucial in ensuring financial integrity across the lounge, restaurant, and beauty studio divisions.

Key Responsibilities
Daily & Routine Accounting:

  • Record all financial transactions in bookkeeping system (POS, QuickBooks, Excel, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and petty cash.
  • Monitor daily sales, expenses, and cash flow across all units.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process supplier/vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Track and manage customer deposits, refunds, and credits.

Payroll & Staff Expenses:

  • Track employee attendance, wages, and benefits.
  • Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary payments.
  • Manage staff expenses and reimbursements.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory returns, and internal audit requirements.
  • Assist with external audits and respond to audit queries.

Internal Controls:

  • Maintain strong financial controls and documentation.
  • Detect and report discrepancies; recommend corrective actions.
  • Support financial planning and forecasting.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Track inventory levels of food, beverage, and beauty products.
  • Assist with cost analysis to optimize margins and reduce waste.

Collaboration:

  • Work with management to drive financial performance.
  • Coordinate with operations, purchasing, and HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (preferably in hospitality/retail).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations in Nigeria.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and integrity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with POS systems and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of payroll and staff management.
