Job Position: Accountant / Payroll Officer

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Finance Manager

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant/Payroll Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our company's financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for processing payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee compensation.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as tax laws and financial reporting requirements

Payroll Management:

  • Process payroll accurately and timely, including salaries, benefits, and deductions
  • Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as tax laws and labor laws

Accounting and Financial Analysis:

  • Perform financial analysis and prepare financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies and errors
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures

Other Duties:

  • Assist with financial planning and budgeting
  • Provide financial training and support to other departments
  • Perform other financial duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting and payroll management
  • Professional certification in accounting (CPA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of financial laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of human resources management
  • Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.)
