Role Description
- The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for APL Logistics in/out and can improve vehicle utilization and financial efficiency and establish or adjust work procedures to meet Logistics
- Develop data-driven reports for vehicle and equipment lifecycle management
- He/She will manage records, prepare reports, and forecast vehicle usage and replacement Maintain and manage the fleet database; input updated information and prepare reports Assign temporary vehicles to employees during repairs Write vehicle and equipment specifications; verify upon delivery
- He/She will process title paperwork for license plates; ensure vehicles are registered/renewed appropriately and in a timely
- Develop and evaluate technical specification standards for acquisition and up-fitting Reduce downtime for claims by preparing documents for use in transporting vehicles to service centers for repairs and releasing vehicles once repairs are completed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use reporting and other methods to monitor all activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including issues related to safety and vehicle management and control
- Assist in the processing of documentation for vehicle purchases, registration renewals, sales, and disposals
- Assist in the preparation of operating standards for fleet administration and policies regarding vehicle operation
- Support in the management of company's drivers and all related matters such as recruitment, placement, and replacement
- Assist in the coordinating of daily itinerary of drivers and vehicles
- Support in Ensuring the validity of all company vehicle documents
- Assist in Liaising with the Insurance companies on all matters of vehicle particulars renewal, accident-related matters, and claims from the insurance company
- Assist in the preparation of operating standards for fleet administration and policies regarding vehicle operation
- Assist in the delivering of vehicles allocated to APL stations and ensure preventative maintenance is practiced by stations
- Assist in Ensuring preventive approach in the maintenance of the company vehicles; proactive repairs and scheduled maintenance to avert breakdown and downtime but promotes operational efficiency
- Assist in raising repair invoices while applying cost-cutting measures and ensuring they are fixed as scheduled
- Support in Mediating of all matters as relates to company vehicles and the law enforcement agencies such as the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), LASTMA, FRSC, VIS, LGA, and any other road transport regulatory bodies
- Assist in the Monitoring of fuel purchase and consumption
- Support in Checkmating driver's excesses in the usage of the company vehicles with an emphasis on fuel consumption
- Assist in the Documentation of vehicles information and keeping/maintaining an up-to-date record
- Partake in the conduct of driver's skill assessment (Drivers test drive exercise), selection, and management
- Support in ensuring that all the company's policies from the management are cascaded down to the drivers
- Assist with the registration of newly procured vehicles and making sure that all documentation is handled efficiently
- Support in Ensuring all company drivers have valid and required driver's documents
- Assist in ensuring that active responses are met to rescue faulty vehicles on the road
- Assist in Conduct incident/accident investigation
- Assist in Leave planning for Drivers
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, or a Related field
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fleet and logistics management
- Must have valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations and/or at-fe
- No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past five years
- Proficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express
