Job Position: Audit Officer
Job Locations: Abagana, Aguleri, Obosi, Awka, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities


  • Risk Management and Control Evaluation: To assess, identify and evaluate internal control risk for possible mitigation and/or elimination.
  • Regulatory and Policy Compliance: Ensuring that the organisation/company’s operations comply with relevant local, State, and federal laws, regulations and industrial standards.
  • Operational Efficiency and Performance Audit: To conduct performance and operational audits to assess the efficiency and productivity of business processes such as resource utilisation, cost control/reduction, and supply chain management/recommendation implementation.
    Financial Integrity and Reporting: Monitoring daily cash collections, preparing monthly revenue assurance reports, reconciling and examining accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Carry out pre- and post-expenses audit for cost control purposes.
  • Fraud Detection and prevention: Assisting in the investigation of suspected misconduct or fraud, and implementing controls to safeguard organisational assets.
  • Follow-up and Remediation: Monitoring the implementation of corrective actions and remediation efforts by Management to ensure that identified gaps and deficiencies are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Process Review: Conducting a targeted and full routine audit of the various Districts and aspects of the company.
  • Assets Management/Protection: Conduct regular checks on the company’s asset movement and usage.
  • To evaluate projects and ensure standardisation.
  • To follow up on Substation construction, commissioning, transformer acquisition and repairs evaluation.
  • Energy audit evaluation.
  • Reporting and Communication: Documenting audit findings, observations, and recommendations in clear, detailed reports and presentations for senior Management.
  • Advisory Role: Providing objective advice to management and staff on best practices for internal control, risk mitigation strategies, and process enhancements to drive continuous improvement and add value to the organisation.

Requirements

  • HND / B.Sc / B.Eng. in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Electrical Engineering & Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of auditing/accounting work experience.
  • Professional certifications / memberships, such as CIA, CPA, CISA, CAN, ACA, ACCA, NEMSA, CIPEN & COREN, are an added advantage.
  • Age: 30 years to 40 years.
