Job Title: Camera Operator / Video Editor

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• A fast-growing digital news platform requires a full-time camera operator/video editor to join its content production team.
• Must have a positive attitude, a strong ability to multi-task, and can adapt and execute in a corporate environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Conceptualise, shoot and edit a variety of news content, often under tight deadlines, in an ever-changing production landscape
• Take a brief to grasp the production team’s needs and specifications
• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
• Create rough and final cuts
• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximise efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a camera operator and video editor
• A desire to continue to grow and learn in an ever-changing media environment
• Must have a minimum qualification of HND and excellent social media skills
• Must be ready for immediate employment and willing to work weekends.
• Residence around Ikeja, Maryland, Anthony in Lagos State is a major advantage.
• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages
• Demonstrable video recording and editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
• A positive attitude and the ability to think on your feet and effectively troubleshoot
