Job Description


  • The job holder would be responsible for the overall effective and efficient management of the Hospitals Central and secondary stores, managing stock movement across all hospital's locations, and coordinating warehouse staff.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Abide by established stock requisition system to ensure all departments have the necessary stock items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supervise all team members in the central pharmacy, and provider oversight and support to the store supervisor at hospital locations
  • Responsible for ensuring department compliance with established processes for stock replenishment for drugs medical consumables, stationeries, and all other stock items.
  • Generate various reports including weekly stock balances & stock movement reports; stock count reports and stock out reports 
  • Providing the monthly Utilization Data after stock count within 4 days of close
  • Compliance with Company’s operating procedures and policies, and accountable for timely development and review of department’s standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure department adherence with established Drug Formulary and supporting processes
  • Management of the store’s receipt and dispensing mechanisms and ensuring it complies with the financial and procurement guidelines on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy, Lab, Nurses and ancillary teams to ensure efficient and timely issuances and requisition processing.
  • Initiate and drive department quality improvement project

Key Performance Indicators/Performance Goals:

  • Achieve average overall reduction in stockout by 30% by FY-2024
  • Days in inventory should be between 45 days for local and 90 days for offshore. TARGET:- 90 days
  • Store process integrity - Zero lines Outstanding GRN for a central store before monthly store count; Zero lines outstanding acknowledgment across all location stores.
  • Stocked items - Achieve 100% monthly requisition submission for Med consumables, domestic and stationary items by 3rd day of each month.

Job Qualifications

  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Accountancy or other numeric disciplines 
  • 5 years of post NYSC experience is desirable
  • Stock management qualifications ideal
  • Healthcare and prior experience with an ERP a plus
