We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Contract Administrator
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Develop contract proposals to support organizational goals
- Write contract letters and other communications and notices
- Negotiate and approve contract terms while ensuring that projects remain within the established budget
- Attend meetings to assess progress on projects which are in motion, and take detailed notes to share with stakeholders
- Create regular status reports regarding progress on projects
- Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure correct contract, legal & commercial engagement of subcontracts and main contracts.
- Ensure the establishment and implementation of contract & legal risk framework including management processes, review risk register and check risk controls for all ongoing projects
- Initiate strategy for claims objectives, implementation and fulfillment.
- Support Commercial, Procurement and other departments on Contract Issues.
- Provide support to Project managers in ensuring all subcontractors follow corporate procedures and processes.
- Provide oversight and advice on contractual and legal exposures derivable on ongoing and future projects.
- Following Contract Lead guidance to build and maintain relationships with both clients and vendors.
Qualifications
- Possesses a Degree in Law
- 3 to 5 years prior experience in a contract administration role or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role in the Oil and Gas sector will be an added advantage
- Exemplifies knowledge of contract law and basic accounting principles
- Has strong negotiation and mediation skills
- Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
- Previous experience in vendor management will be an added advantage
- Possesses strong communication skills
- Able to work productively independently and as part of a team
- Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem solving abilities
- Should exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities.
