Nairametrics Financial Advocates Limited is a leading financial resource company based in Nigeria.  We provide our clients (including visitors to our website) with up to date business, investing and financial information from Africa’s largest economy. We also have a consulting arm that provides bespoke financial management services to clients.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Copy Editor

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities for Copy Editor

• Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the Editorial writing process
• Engage readers with an informative and educational copy
• Understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of the company in writing style
• Fine-tune writing style of Analysts, Freelancers and columnists for articles to be published on nairametrics.com
• Ensure that the articles on nairametrics.com are easy to read and succinct in delivery
• Ensure they are no typographical and grammatical errors on the website
• Occasionally edit copy that goes across our Social Media Channels
• Proofread and edit copy for internal and external documentation to be presented to the company and its partners.
• Keep abreast of trends in content and style reflected on Business and Financial News Reporting

Qualifications for Copy Editor

• Bachelor's Degree, 2+ years of copy editing experience preferred
• Proficiency with applying the principles of style guides to different types of writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
• Thorough knowledge of media writing and communication
• Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
• Strong computer processing skills, especially Wordpress, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Sharepoint, Planner and related work tools
• Mastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors and ability to make constructive suggestions
