Job Position: Cost Accountant
Job Location: Ondo
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
- Analyze and report on financial performance. Prepare and review financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement).
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecast. Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement cost accounting systems. Track and analyze direct and indirect costs. Conduct cost-benefit analyses.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and Manage Budget. Prepare and review forecasts. Analyze and report on budget variances.
- Conduct sensitive analysis. Develop and implement inventory management systems. Track and analyze inventory levels. Identify and recommend inventory optimization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Conduct special studies and analyses. Develop and implement process improvements. Provide financial support for strategic initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor cost accounting staff. Communicate financial results to management.
- Provide financial to non-financial stakeholders. Present financial information to senior management. Collaborate with other departments.
Qualifications – Cost Accountant
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within agriculture, manufacturing, FMCG, or plantation operations.
- Strong knowledge of costing methods relevant to plantation and processing operations (standard costing, variance analysis, process costing).
- Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, or part qualification is an added advantage.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and inventory valuation across farm, mill, and logistics operations.
- Good understanding of production costing, yield analysis, and efficiency metrics in oil palm operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting / ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and finance.
