Job Position: Account Intern

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Overview


  • We are currently seeking a motivated AccountIntern who is looking for a Placement for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Port Harcourt
  • The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in finance and will gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to our finance team and over company performance.

Responsibilities

  • Handling all accounts payable and receivable.
  • Preparation of financial reports, and financial statements for the organization as well as its clients.
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Recording transactions, payments, and expenses, and processing invoices.
  • Communicating effectively with cash and billing staff across branches to ensure timely remittance of cash.
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Willingness to improve knowledge of IFRS
  • Display proficiency in working with relevant accounting software
  • Any other duties may be assigned
  • Handling queries related to accounts and preparing error-free accounting reports.

Communication and Support:

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.

Compliance:

  • Corporate policies and Procedures.
  • Use of approved electronic documents.
  • Access permissions and risk management policies set by the management.
  • Statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements associated with duties.
  • Failure to comply may lead to disciplinary actions including termination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Must be a serving Corp Member in Port Harcourt and seeking a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills. Should be able to identify abnormalities in data and resolve them quickly and effectively.
  • Impeccable character and integrity
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Superb attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Suits and accounting ERP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with computers and accounting applications/software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales competencies.
  • Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment.

Salary
N100,000 / month.
