Job Position: DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to support the development, deployment, and operation of scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
• The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between development and operations by automating processes, improving system reliability, and enabling faster and more reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and outages
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to support application releases and environment stability
• Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Enforce security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirements across environments
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance activities
• Document infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proven experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering role
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Experience working with cloud platforms( AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Experience with Dockerand container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes preferred)
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and system reliability principles

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
• Experience implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Exposure to security and DevSecOps practices
• Experience in fintech, banking, or enterprise environments.
