Job Position: Freight Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Freight Manager oversees international shipments, ensuring efficient logistics, regulatory compliance, & seamless coordination with airlines, shipping lines, & customs agencies.

Responsibilities
Freight Coordination & Logistics Management:

  • Manage air & sea freight shipments from booking to final delivery.
  • Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, & logistics partners for timely cargo movement.
  • Track shipments & provide updates to customers & internal teams.
  • Handle all required shipping documentation.

Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure shipments comply with customs regulations & global trade policies.
  • Process customs documentation for smooth export/import clearance.
  • Stay updated on international shipping laws & compliance requirements.

Customer Service & Support:

  • Serve as the liaison between CourierPlus, customers, & freight carriers.
  • Provide proactive communication & resolve freight-related issues.
  • Advise customers on shipping costs, requirements, & timelines.

Cost Management & Vendor Relations:

  • Negotiate competitive freight rates with logistics providers.
  • Optimize shipping methods to reduce costs while maintaining efficiency.
  • Work with finance teams to process invoices & freight-related charges.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments & transactions.
  • Analyze freight trends & operational costs for process improvement.
  • Generate reports on freight performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in international freight or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of customs clearance & trade compliance.
  • Experience with air & sea freight operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software & shipment tracking tools.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, & communication skills.
