Job Position: Group Business Development Head

Job Location: Lagos
Job type: Full-time


Job Purpose

  • Lead business development across the JR Group, driving pipeline growth and revenue for both Jake Riley and Zigma.
  • Build client relationships, win major contracts, and coordinate BD activities across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute group BD strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Build and manage qualified pipeline across all business units
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue major contract opportunities
  • Lead proposal development and bid management for significant opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and decision-makers
  • Represent the group at industry events and client meetings
  • Coordinate BD activities with practice/business unit heads
  • Manage BD team including regional BD Executives and Tender Specialist
  • Track market intelligence and competitor activities
  • Develop pricing strategies in collaboration with business units
  • Ensure CRM/pipeline management discipline
  • Report on BD performance and forecasts to MD

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred with a minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or sales in B2B environment
  • Significant experience in oil & gas, engineering, or professional services
  • Track record of winning major contracts (>?100M value)
  • Strong network among IOCs, indigenous E&Ps, and government agencies
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Experience managing BD teams across multiple locations
  • Understanding of tender/bid processes in Nigerian oil & gas
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract understanding
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
