An Oil Palm Plc that is established in the business of palm tree plantation development and cultivation to produces palm oil and kernel. The company offer crude palm oil, technical palm oil, pharmaceutical sterin and other agro-allied related products. The company was founded in 1968 and is based in Ondo Nigeria
1. Strategic Planning and Implementation:
• Develop and implement comprehensive agricultural plans:This includes planting schedules, fertilization programs, pest and disease control strategies, and harvesting plans to maximize yield and quality.
• Set production targets:Ensure the plantation meets or exceeds production targets for fresh fruit bunches (FFB) and oil extraction rates.
• Plan and manage the estate budget:Ensure operating expenses are minimized and profitability is maximized.
• Oversee the daily operations of the estate:Be responsible for human capital development, asset utilization, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations:This includes sustainable agricultural practices, environmental regulations, and industry certifications like RSPO and ISO.
2. Field Operations and Management:
• Lead and manage a team of agricultural professionals: This includes supervisors, agronomists, and field workers, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and employee development.
• Supervise field operations: This includes site clearing, nursery management, planting, harvesting, maintenance, and other related field works.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the plantation: Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure efficient use of resources: Optimize resource utilization, including land, water, fertilizers, and labor.
• Implement sustainable agricultural practices: Minimize environmental impact and promote soil health.
• Manage machinery, irrigation systems, and infrastructure maintenance: Ensure equipment is in good working order and that infrastructure is well-maintained.
3. Quality Control and Sustainability:
• Maintain a high level of quality control:Ensure the quality of FFB meets industry standards and specifications.
• Drive sustainability initiatives: Implement and monitor sustainability practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Monitor financial performance and cost control: Ensure the plantation operates efficiently and profitably.
• Build relationships with stakeholders:Collaborate with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and investors.
4. Other Responsibilities:
• Provide technical guidance and support to the field team: Ensure that all workers are properly trained and equipped to perform their tasks effectively.
• Prepare reports and presentations:Regularly report on the performance of the plantation to management.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest agricultural technologies and best practices:Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the plantation.
• Contribute to the company's overall strategic goals:Work with other departments to ensure the plantation contributes to the company's overall success.
