Job Summary

• The Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and operational processes within the supermarket.
• The role focuses on ensuring financial accuracy, preventing fraud, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal audits of store operations, inventory, cash handling, and financial records
• Review daily sales, expenses, stock movement, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Assess compliance with internal policies, procedures, and management directives
• Identify risks, control gaps, and instances of fraud or wastage, and recommend corrective actions
• Monitor inventory controls to minimize losses, pilferage, and shrinkage
• Review procurement, supplier payments, and expense management processes
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation
• Support management in improving operational efficiency and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–4 years of experience as an Internal Auditor or in a similar role (retail or supermarket experience is an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Good understanding of inventory management and retail operations
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information

Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 monthly.
