Accounting Operations


  • Initiate all approved payments on banking portal.
  • Prepare bank payment instruction for payments above the internet banking limit
  • Prepare instruction for custom duty payment with required documents such as custom demand note, PAAR and Custom declaration   
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of accounting information system to strengthen efficiency.
  • Ensure daily posting of all necessary ledgers of account accordingly
  • Manage office cash and update transfer payments with supporting documents
  • Disburse funds necessary for office operations e.g., transport and office supplies  etc.
  • Track and confirm payments from customers and any other bank activity

Expat Mobility Management

  • Prepare invitation letter for visa application for international business partners and staff
  • Assist with visa on arrival and airport clearance for international business partners
  • Attend to all immigration issues

Budget Planning

  • Assist in preparing annual budget by sourcing for information from all departments in the organization
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and manage the preparation of management report of budget / actual revenues and expenses

Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare necessary document for NSIFT compliance certificate, follow-up to ensure certificate is issued
  • Prepare necessary document for PENCOM compliance certificate, follow-up to ensure certificate is issued
  • Prepare necessary document for ITF compliance certificate, follow-up to ensure certificate is issued
  • Ensure annual payment is made to Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria
  • Ensure regular remittance of pension deduction to PENCOM
  • Ensure payment is made to Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority as at when due
  • Ensure registration of the company with Lagos State for tender publication information
  • Attend to all issues with road transport regulators; LASTMA, FRSC & VIO
  • Process Customs dues as required
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Tax Administration

  • Follow -up with the Auditor for Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC)
  • Ensure filing of annual employee’s returns to LIRS
  • Attend tax and investigative audit exercise by Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)
  • Attend Tax audit exercise by Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIRS)
  • File for monthly VAT returns from the appropriate authority

 

Payroll Administration

·      Prepare monthly payroll in collaboration with HR

·      Prepare payee tax and pension commutation as guided by the Financial consultant

·      Engage auditors to prepare them and finalize yearly payee audits within the stipulated time.

 

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Perform internal audit to substantiate financial statements and transactions.
  • Monitor and report on any account discrepancies
  • Ensure reports are in alignment with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Internal Control

·       Evaluate the efficacy of risk management processes in place.

·       Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls. Identify loopholes and recommend risk-mitigating measures.

·       Review of petty cash.

·       Protect against fraud and theft of the organization's assets.

·       Call-over of postings by the collections team to assess correctness, promptness and completeness.

·       Call-over of ledger postings by the Accounts department to ensure correctness and adherence to accounting principles and guidelines.

·       Periodic risk assessment of internal processes in order to identify loopholes and proffering appropriate solutions.

·       Conduct investigations into identified and reported cases of loss or theft.

Accounting Software (Odoo)

·      Enter accounting records/information in the accounting software

·      Generate reports from time to time form the software

Qualification & Experience

?     A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

?     Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA 

?     Minimum of 10 years related experience

?     Experience in the use of Accounting software
