Job Description


  • We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance to lead and manage the financial operations of our company in the agriculture sector. 
  • This senior leadership role will oversee all financial aspects, including financial planning, analysis, accounting, budgeting, and reporting. 
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, a deep understanding of agricultural business needs, and the ability to drive financial growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy. Ensure that financial goals align with the broader business objectives and growth initiatives within the agriculture sector.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide recommendations to senior leadership on business decisions.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Develop and implement financial risk management strategies. Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations.
  • Cost Control & Profitability: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements. Analyze cost structures and recommend changes to enhance profitability across the organization.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements and reports. Present financial performance to the board and senior management, providing key insights into trends and opportunities.
  • Cash Flow & Capital Management: Monitor cash flow and manage capital resources to ensure sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations. Implement strategies for efficient working capital management.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Oversee recruitment and training to ensure the finance team meets the organization’s evolving needs.
  • Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with investors, auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders. Provide regular updates on financial performance and strategic goals.
  • System & Process Improvement: Oversee the implementation of financial systems and tools. Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and accounting processes, leveraging technology where possible.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position, preferably in the agricultural or related sectors.
  • Strong financial expertise in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, taxation, and compliance.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • In-depth knowledgeof financial software and ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, able to convey financial information clearly to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset focused on business growth and financial sustainability.
