Job Position: Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

• We’re looking for someone with a love of infrastructure and automation to work with us on the country-scale, offline-first logistics and program analytics services which we provide to public and private health supply chains.
• You’ll help design, build and maintain the modern, largely serverless infrastructure and well-developed deployment tooling which serves and monitors our platform as it supports hundreds of millions of health interventions each year.
• You will work closely with our development teams in Nigeria and Europe, supporting them with deployment and hosting infrastructure, designing solutions to challenges of scale, security and reliability.
• This is a full time position based in or around Berlin or Abuja. We primarily work remotely but find it useful to be able to meet up from time to time. Part-time work possible.
• Note, all permanent positions at Field come with enrollment in our ESOP.

Required

• 5+ years of experience working in a DevOps, site reliability engineering, or related role, on live production systems in a team setting
• 5+ years of experience working in software engineering, ideally with javascript-based tech stacks

Professional experience:

• Working with AWS (esp. CDK, Lambda, ECS)
• Maintaining and scaling data infrastructure (Postgres, Apache CouchDB a plus)
• Maintaining CI / CD pipelines (esp. CircleCI)
• Working with Linux shells and Docker in production environments
• Configuring Javascript build systems (esp. esbuild, NPM)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of personal initiative and organisation
• Language skills: English (fluent).
