Job Position: Inventory and Store Officer
Job Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Reports to: Store Manager
Position Overview
- The Inventory and Store Officer is responsible for managing the store’s inventory, ensuring products are properly stored, organized, and accurately tracked. This role involves overseeing stock levels, receiving deliveries, conducting stock audits, and ensuring that there are no shortages or wastage of bakery products and supplies.
- The officer will also ensure that inventory systems are kept up to date and that all stock movements are accurately recorded.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving and storing goods, organizing stock, and managing stock rotation.
- Ensure that all products, including bakery supplies and packaging materials, are properly stored to maintain quality and freshness.
- Regularly check stock levels to identify when products need to be restocked or reordered.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring that stock counts match the system records and identifying discrepancies when they arise.
- Monitor product expiry dates and rotate stock accordingly to minimize wastage.
Stock Monitoring & Replenishment:
- Coordinate with the procurement or purchasing team to place orders for supplies, ensuring stock levels remain adequate without overstocking.
- Track and manage stock deliveries, ensuring all items are received as per the order specifications.
- Update inventory systems with new stock arrivals, product movements, and stock adjustments.
- Forecast inventory needs based on sales trends, promotions, and seasonal demand.
Stock Audits & Reporting:
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with inventory system data.
- Report discrepancies or concerns to the store manager and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and stock turnover to management.
Organization & Maintenance:
- Ensure that all inventory is organized and stored according to company standards and health and safety regulations.
- Keep storage areas clean and organized to ensure easy access to products and compliance with safety standards.
- Work closely with the team to ensure that the back-of-house area is managed efficiently, with minimal clutter.
Stock Movement & Distribution:
- Oversee the movement of products from the storage area to the shop floor, ensuring that items are appropriately labeled and ready for use.
- Ensure that stock is distributed to the right sections of the store in an orderly and timely manner.
- Manage returns, damaged stock, and expired products by implementing proper disposal or return procedures.
Customer Service Support:
- Work closely with the floor supervisor and team to ensure that products are available on time and there are no stock shortages during peak hours.
- Assist in locating out-of-stock or hard-to-find items for customers.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or related fields, preferably in a retail or food service environment.
- Experience with inventory management systems or software is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and storage practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25-30 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
