We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Process Engineer

Job Location: Mfamosing Plant, Cross River
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the role


  • The Process Engineer leads plant discussions and investigations to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance.
  • Through data analysis, field measurements, and conversations with employees are able to diagnose issues and develop solutions to move the plant towards greater performance.

What you'll be doing 

  • Makes positive contributions to the plant safety activities and initiatives.
  • Provides technical support to the plant’s production, quality, and environmental functions. Understands strategies, priorities, and optimization techniques that assist the plant in attainment of plant and company objectives.
  • Conduct inspections, measurements and operational assessment for shop assigned to you.
  • Follow-up actions / recommendations from findings with the responsible
  • Daily evaluates operations, processes, and trends through the use of audits and systematic approach, for example RCAs, Incidence assessment & reporting etc.
  • Provides technical support on implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures including training of plant personnel as required. Serves as mentor to CCR Operators in production and other departments.
  • Primary to the Process Engineer position is the coordination and participation in improvement of the Plant’s technical capabilities. The Process Engineer’s objectives are to initiate process optimization in collaboration with Quality, Production and Maintenance to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant’s equipment. This position has a requirement of elevating the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
  • Initiate actions for de-bottlenecking equipment and Processes and engage with stakeholders to close the actions.
  • Design and contribute development of new systems, equipment and procedures and propose modifications of existing ones for continuous process improvement. Include economic and operational feasibility studies. Support commissioning and de-bottleneck new installations
  • Promote the increased use of AFR (if applicable): provide comprehensive technical expertise to evaluate AFR with respect to its impact on the process; develop and implement solutions to eliminate / reduce impact of AFR on the process operation
  • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of an Integrated management system (IMS) in the plant.

What we are looking for 

  • Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering 
  • 5 years of working experience with at least 3 years in cement Industry.
  • Good knowledge of cement manufacturing Process
  • Perform the measurements of a basic process: gas flow measurement, false air mapping etc.
  • Organize and perform an audit to any one area of a plant: Equipment/gas / thermal/ material balance of a kiln or a mill based on a pre-established model.
  • Audit reporting 
  • Tune a control loop.
  • Understand the strategy of an expert system. (HLC)
  • Good knowledge of statistical process control methods.
  • Good knowledge of project management methods.
  • Strong computer expertise in but not limited to: Excel,
  • Good knowledge of SAP, TIS, and PACT.

2.) Business Performance Reporting Manager

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the role

  • The Business Performance Reporting (BPR) Manager is responsible for the production of high quality, timely and accurate financial and business performance reports that help understand the country’s performance context and points the leadership to strategic decisions for the future.
  • BPR manager will also be responsible for coordinating Month End Closing (MEC) activities by ensuring that the financial cycles, FPPA and controlling inputs, are completed in line with reporting timelines, and that financial results are reflective of business understanding with detailed insights and commentary on financial performance.

What you'll be doing
Business Performance Reporting:

  • Coordinate the MEC process and consolidation in FPPA; responsible for validating the credibility of the financial numbers on the MEC process. Drive process documentation for all controlling activities (Standard Operating Procedure) to ensure standardization of all processes in line with finance best practices.
  • Ensure that performance and monitoring information is gathered and submitted with the right level of detail and context and within time frames to enable effective decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Ensure that the FPPA Minimum Control Standards and internal control process are adhered to, with the right level of documentation backing up finance treatments within the FPPA team.
  • Monitor the integrity of our balance sheet working to minimize and manage balance sheet exposures with clear actionable items within agreed time-frames.
  • Prepare periodic business performance presentations; explaining the performance highlights for the period and variances versus budget, forecast and previous period in order to ensure adherence to annual performance commitment.
  • Drive the delivery and reporting of all Functional KPIs (HR, Logistics, Industrial, Sustainability) to ensure that they are prepared, validated and reported on a timely basis as part of the Month-end reporting process.
  • Coordinate all audit requests made to the financial planning team during annual internal audits and statutory audits.

Board and Investors Relations Reporting:

  • Prepare Quarterly Board Reports with detailed analysis of LAP performance for quarterly Board of Directors and Finance Committee Meetings.
  • Responsible for all financial performance analysis and quarterly investor’s earnings call presentations.
  • Lead preparation of earnings call presentation, press release, CFO and CEO quarterly earnings call commentary/scripts and potential questions and answers pack.
  • Support the preparation of the Annual Report as well as planning and execution of Shareholders Annual General Meeting.
  • This includes providing support to the legal department to obtain proxies and other forms required from institutional shareholders.
  • Monitors the share price of LAP and the share purchase activities of the investors

Strategy Executions:

  • Prepare a reporting framework for tracking all strategic initiatives across all the functions
  • Monitor actual execution of the business strategy – tracking all initiatives agreed upon during the strategy session
  • Maintain dashboards to measure initiatives Vs strategic initiatives across all functions
  • Reports and tracks cross functional cost savings initiatives Vs strategy commitments

Finance Projects:

  • Key resource person for the Finance reporting digitalization project - Anaplan. The Anaplan project is aimed at simplifying financial and operational planning and ensure we transit to digital.
  • Drive with the team, the tracking and implantation of the Decarbonization targets – set up reporting framework, maintain and track consolidated dashboard over the 3 scopes of Decarbonization
  • Drive Cost Management Initiatives that will help the company manage increasing costs amidst volatile by supporting the Functional Controllers in ensuring that business derives value in all transactions and savings is realized.
  • Support the finance organization in driving new ways of work through digitization and adoption of best-in class analytics applications and tools across the team.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any other relevant degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience with at least 3 years in Business Planning, Management Reporting and Analysis roles.
  • Experience in multi-national companies is an added advantage.
  • Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency (including good knowledge of PowerPoint)
  • Good knowledge of SAP and SAP FC is a plus.

3.) Operations and Performance Analyst, North

Job Location: Gombe
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the role

  • The Operations and Performance Analyst is responsible for collating and analyzing operational performance data for the purpose of improving the performance of North Cement Plant.
  • He analyzes the plant production and cost data, identifies wasteful processes, and makes recommendations to improve efficiency.

What you'll be doing

  • Measures daily production performance by equipment, by line and by plant against the OEM/BDP quantity, analyses and explains variance in detail for performance improvement
  • Performs weekly and monthly analysis of plant performance highlighting variances to key performance indicators and undertakes review of plant reports to ensure consistency of information with other reports e.g. monthly production reports, advance downtime analysis program (ADAP) reports, costing tool report etc.
  • Under the supervision of the Finance controller, he undertakes root cause analysis to variances of the Plants and regional performance and presents explanations to variances of key performance indicators compared to plan; advising management on corrective actions for improved performance.
  • Monitors Internal Control environment of the Northern plant and drives compliance with Internal controls standards, policies and procedures in line with LHARP rules.
  • Serves as the Month-End Closing (MEC) Coordinator for the Northern plant; ensuring accurate reporting of monthly Key Statistical KPIs for both Ewekoro and Sagamu Plants in line with LHARP.
  • Supports the Finance Controller in leading the weekly, monthly and annual planning, forecasting and budgeting cycles for the North plant and for the region.
  • Fully responsible for the supervision of monthly cycle counting and reconciliation of Inventory of Spare parts across the Northern region.
  • Takes the lead in quarterly measurement and reconciliation of process materials across the SW plants to validate the accuracy of inventory balances; proposes inventory adjustments for approval in line with the DOA.
  • Proactively engages with plant management on reporting requirements and uses reporting tool for automating reports, in consultation with reporting team.
  • Performs any other functions as may be assigned by the Plant controller.
  • Responsible for Overall financial activities for Ashaka plant

Level of Education/qualifications

  • SAP Intermediate Knowledge

Specific Work experience:

  • Have a proven track record of working closely with commercial teams, sales and operational teams
