  • We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Legal Counsel to join our growing team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including NDAs, Service Agreements, Supplier Contracts, and Partnership Agreements.
  • Drive legal operations and process improvement by identifying bottlenecks, proposing practical solutions (e.g., new intake forms, tech rollouts), and improving workflows.
  • Maintain and update our legal content library, including legal templates and playbooks, ensuring they align with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain self-service training materials and guides to empower business colleagues to handle basic legal questions.
  • Take ownership of small-to-medium-sized legal projects aimed at enhancing the legal team’s efficiency and scalability.

What You Need

  • A qualified lawyer in South Africa, Nigeria, or Kenya.
  • NQ - 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) either in-house or at a top-tier law firm.
  • Foundational knowledge of contract law with demonstrable experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements.
  • A genuine interest and experience in legal operations, process improvement, or legal technology (e.g., contract management systems) is highly valued.
  • A Problem-solver who communicates complex legal issues in simple, practical, and commercial terms.

2.) Product Manager (Enterprise Payments)

Job Description

  • We are looking for an API-first Product Manager with experience in developer-focused products to own the strategy and execution of our Payments for Platforms offering.
  • Your mission will be to build a world-class, developer-centric product that enables SaaS companies, marketplaces, and other digital platforms to embed Verto's global payment and FX capabilities directly into their applications via our API.
  • You will be responsible for the entire developer journey.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the API Product Lifecycle: Drive the end-to-end lifecycle for our API-first products, from strategic planning and discovery to launch and iteration.
  • Champion Developer Experience (DX): Obsess over our API documentation, SDKs, sandbox environments, and developer onboarding process to ensure a seamless integration experience.
  • Engage with Partners: Work directly with the developer community and our platform partners to understand their needs, challenges, and use cases for embedded finance.
  • Define the Roadmap: Create and maintain the product roadmap, writing clear technical specifications, API contracts, and user stories for a developer audience.
  • Analyze Platform Metrics: Define and track key metrics (KPIs) such as API adoption rates, time-to-first-call, developer satisfaction, and transaction volume per partner.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with engineering, design, compliance, sales, and go-to-market teams to build and launch a successful platform product.

What You Need

  • Proven API/Platform PM Experience: A track record of shipping successful API-first or developer-focused B2B products.
  • Deep Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of Payments-as-a-Service (PaaS) or embedded finance concepts. You must be comfortable with API design principles (REST), webhooks, and the technical architecture of platform-based products.
  • Technical Acumen: You are not required to code, but you must be able to hold your own in technical discussions with engineers about API design and system architecture.
  • Developer Empathy: A genuine passion for understanding and solving problems for a developer audience.
  • Excellent Communication: The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Comfortable making decisions based on data in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Regulatory Familiarity: Experience working in a regulated or compliance-heavy industry is a strong plus.

3.) Senior Product Manager (Expansion)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Product Manager to take the helm of our Core Infrastructure team.
  • This role sits at the very heart of Verto's platform, responsible for owning and scaling the global financial network that underpins all our products.
  • This is a critical leadership position focused not only on integrating new payment rails and banking partners but also on defining the strategic roadmap for our global expansion.
  • You will be the visionary driving the scalability, resilience, and reach of our entire payment ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead Infrastructure Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term product strategy for Verto’s core payments infrastructure and global network expansion.
  • Drive Global Integrations: Lead the end-to-end integration of new global payment rails (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, local ACH networks) and banking partners, from initial due diligence to technical implementation and launch.
  • Guide Expansion Roadmap: Conduct in-depth analysis of new markets, payment technologies, and regulatory landscapes to build compelling business cases and prioritize our geographic and network expansion initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor a team of product managers and analysts focused on the infrastructure domain, fostering a culture of excellence and deep domain expertise.
  • Manage Financial Partnerships: Act as the key product liaison between Verto and its external financial partners, including banks, payment processors, and liquidity providers.
  • Architect for Scale: Partner closely with senior engineering and architecture leads to design scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure that can support our future growth and product ambitions.

What You Need

  • Extensive Product Experience: 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years focused on core payments infrastructure, financial networks, or cross-border payments.
  • Expert Domain Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of global payment systems (SWIFT, correspondent banking, ISO20022), clearing and settlement mechanisms, and the technical and operational aspects of integrating with banking partners.
  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a strategic or leadership role. Experience mentoring or managing other product managers is highly desirable.
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to think strategically, analyze complex market dynamics, and build data-driven business cases for large-scale technical investments.
  • High Technical Fluency: You are comfortable leading discussions on system architecture, API design, and security protocols with senior engineers and architects.
  • Exceptional Partner Management: Strong experience in building and managing relationships with external technical and financial partners.
