We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) General Practitioner (Medical Officer)


Job Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Medical Director, Other Consultants
Direct Reports: General Practitioners, Head Nurse, and all other Nurses

Job Objective

  • To administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.

Tasks & Responsibilities
General:

  • To provide urgent medical attention and urgent treatment to staff or visitors in case of accident or sudden illness in liaison   with the senior nurse on duty. Inpatient Assessment, ward rounds and review (diagnosis, management plan medications)
  • Liaising with consultants in regards Inpatient care
  • Outpatient review and initial assessment
  • Order, perform and interpret tests, and analyse records, reports and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.
  • Monitor the patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, and provides postnatal care to mother and infant.
  • Performs minor surgery and assist in major surgeries. May make house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit the hospital.
  • To certify deaths, complete death certificates.as required
  • Relating with patients relatives /caregivers on present state of health and further management.
  • Providing documentation as regards Health reports and discharge summaries of clients
  • Attending to emergencies as regards clients (inpatient) health care.
  • Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the general population.
  • To comply with all hospital policies and procedures in particular those relating to Health and Safety at Work.
  • To be familiar with the hospital’s corporate care pathway and follow accordingly.
  • Development of systems, processes and procedures for medical manpower management in consultation with senior management

Consultants:

  • To seek consent for any procedures that they intend to undertake.
  • To communicate any medical problems or concerns to Consultants.
  • To act as reasonably required, on behalf of the Consultant in their absence when requested.
  • To undertake within their level of experience and competence certain medical procedures required by the consultants.
  • Adopts professional approaches at all times in ensuring patients', their relatives as well as other staff compliance with the hospital's safety guidance as necessary.
  • Utilizes excellent communication skills with patients, their relatives and other members of staff while demonstrating respect, compassion and integrity.
  •  Responds promptly when called up to attend to a patient
  • Participates in Surgeries, Labour cases, Out patient consultation, Inpatient and NICU follow-up, and consistently use the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at all levels of patients' care including data entry after attending to emergencies, while keeping records for performance review.
  • Adheres to laid down departmental protocols and work processes for the management of patients and cases.
  • Teachable with the clear ability to accept corrections and make expected changes where necessary.
  • Works independently and with minimal supervision while still maintaining a good team spirit.
  • Contributes meaningfully to the overall work processes, and day to day management of patients of Deda Hospital.

Nursing Staff & Patients:

  • To liaise with nursing staff regularly (at least every 3-4 hours) to check on patient progress, or more frequently if their condition necessitates. To see patients at the request of nurses in charge and carry out examinations of patients.
  • To discuss medication on discharge with patients and write a discharge summary if requested.
  • To administer intravenous medications / therapy if required
  • To take blood samples from patients as may be required from time to time and to undertake arterial blood sampling as necessary.
  • To respond to calls from the ward relating to patient care.
  • And any other Adhoc duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications

  • MBBS
  • Registration with relevant bodies.   
  • Required Experience: None.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Attention to details: Find enlarged lymph nodes or splenomegaly on examination
  • Effective communication: Explain a disease or procedure to patients in plain, understandable terms.
  • Problem solving Skill: Recognize when a patient needs to be transferred to the ICU.
  • Ability to work in a team: Know when to call in a consultant and when to do the work themselves.   
  • Ability to handle pressure  
  • Computer Literacy  
  • Display patience.

2.) Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: HR / Admin Manager / QA & QC, Director Finance & Admin

Job Objective

  • To oversee the work of the housekeeping officers and ensure that the hospital facility and surroundings are kept clean and tidy while enforcing compliance with established safety and sanitation policies in the Housekeeping Units.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness, maintenance culture and hygiene standards.
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job while escalating when necessary.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Liaise with linen room to ensure that there is adequate clean linen and uniforms and maintain a neat work area.
  • Counter checks that all items processed are spotlessly clean as per hospital standards and patients satisfaction.
  • Identifies cleaning needs and potential safety hazards or repair needs, and notifies appropriate individuals for resolution.
  • Prepares daily, weekly or monthly reports and escalate other issues to appropriate authorities.
  • Respond to customer complaints, liaise with facility , nurses, laundry, Cafeteria, HR and Quality Assurance to resolve issues and special requests.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves
  • Prioritizes the cleaning duties and provides updates on status of completed rooms and work areas. Maintains records of rooms that receive cleaning approval and rooms that require further cleaning and maintenance.
  • Documents accidents and incidents accurately in accordance with Hospital policy.
  • Interviews, hires and trains team members; schedules and motivates team members; plans, assigns and direct work; appraise performance; reward team members; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Follows the stipulated measurements required for cleaning agents, thereby curbing wastage but produces high quality job.
  • Exhibits leadership skills at all times.
  • Attends departmental meetings as at when scheduled.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience.

3.) Store Manager

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Direct Report: All department on the use of items collected
Reports to: Procurement Officer, Accountant, Finance and Admin Director, Accounts Officers

Job Objective

  • Responsible for all warehouse operations activities including purchasing, receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting store transactions, maintaining records, and effectively securing, controlling and monitoring all store assets to reduce shrinkage and loss.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Receives requests from all departments for items needed. Release the items and ensures they are used up at the appropriate department
  • Fills supply requisitions from different departments of the hospital as required
  • Researches cost, quality, and availability of consumables, selects appropriate consumables and vendors and makes all comply with department’s guideline.
  • Receives and stores documents and confidential files; maintains record of approved document
  • Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs and surplus property.
  • Maintains clean sanitary and orderly storeroom. May make decisions regarding the physical layout of store room.
  • Takes audit
  • Places purchase order based on competitive price and cost efficiency after approval has been given for such order
  • Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
  • Receives, stores, tags and tracks surplus property.
  • Takes daily stock of store items to prevent theft, stock out, rick of expiry, and risk of overstocking items in the store
  • Prepares monthly stock analysis on inventory highlighting risk, mostly used items and others for decision making by management.

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum of B.Sc Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Meticulous competency in invoicing of services •Experienced in restocking merchandise
  • Outstanding Inventory management.
  • Excellent numerate skill.
  • Data entry skills.
