First Rivers Hospital Limited is a sixty bed complex located at 7/9 Old Aba Road, Rumuomasi / 250 Aba Express way Port Harcourt, with modern equipment. Through over 150 staff, 78 of which are core healthcare professionals, we are committed to the provision of compelling quality timeless medical services to our patients. Our objective is to maximally exploit medical sciences in the art of health management and preservation of life with regards to The Ultimate Intelligence.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) ICT Personnel

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary


  • The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of IT systems, provide technical support, and implement IT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and upgrade computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain data backup and recovery procedures.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
  • Provide technical support across the hospital.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and configure network devices, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  •  Diagnose, repair faults, and resolve network issues.
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.

Requirements

  • HND or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, andIT security practices.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including encryption, firewalls, and malware protection.
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., scripting languages like Python) for automation and SQL for Database management.

2.) Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

  • Provide compassionate nursing care in our general medical and surgical wards. 
  • You will assess patient needs, administer medications, and promote recovery through evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and document findings electronically and physically.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and wound care.
  • Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.

Qualifications & Examinations

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nursing
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), including successful indexing and examination via the NMCN portal

Required Certification & Licensing:

  • Valid NMCN practising licence (renewed every 2 years)
  • Completion of NMCN Professional Qualifying Examination

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of post-NYSC experience in a hospital setting.

3.) Medical Officer (General Practice) 

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Join our multidisciplinary team as a Medical Officer, providing comprehensive primary and acute care to in-patients and out-patients. 
  • You will work closely with consultants and allied health professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Manage acute and chronic cases in the general ward and outpatient clinics.
  • Perform routine procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, joint aspiration).
  • Prescribe and monitor medications in line with hospital protocols.
  • Document clinical findings electronically and physically and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Collaborate in mortality/morbidity reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Examinations

  • MBBS or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of post-internship experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in emergency response and patient triage
  • Successful completion of 12-month internship (housemanship) in an approved centre, with all F-Forms, E-Form(4) and B-Form(1) duly signed
  • Full registration and practicing licence from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)—application for full registration typically takes up to 4 weeks post-internship

Required Certification & Licensing:

  • MDCN practising licence (renewable annually)
  • Certificate of Good Standing (LOGS) if trained abroad, with EPIC verification where applicable.
