1.) Information Technology Senior Administrator

Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Information Technology Administrator is a dynamic junior-level position that will support the efficient and effective operations of the country office IT systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
TechnoServe will expect the Information Technology (IT) Senior Administrator to provide the following services to ensure maximum uptime for TechnoServe’s IT services and equipment:
IT Support:

  • Conduct routine checks on all TechnoServe IT infrastructure including hardware and software to ensure they are working efficiently;
  • Install, configure, and set up laptops and mobile devices according to corporate standard laptop build check-list;
  • Configure and troubleshoot printers;
  • Configure and distribute devices for new staff with standard configuration including Windows and any necessary software, according to Corporate IT policy and procedures, setting them up on the network, and all other necessary troubleshooting.
  • Assists the offices in maintaining a spare laptop pool based on corporate IT policies and procedures;
  • Troubleshoot users’ technical issues including laptops, desktops, Printers, scanners, copiers, phones, tablets, CCTV, and Biometric Machines;
  • Collaborate with the Regional IT Manager to adapt and apply all corporate IT policies and procedures to the Nigerian head office and field offices;
  • Troubleshooting when issues arise and updating firmware as needed. Identify and correct problems with the network as they arise, ensuring connectivity of all required hardware, including laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, CCTV and Biometric Machines at all times.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of all office IT equipment such as laptops, mobile devices, Printers, scanners, copiers, and CCTV cameras.
  • Test and evaluate new technology required to improve our services;
  • Together with the Operations Manager, develop local IT procedures that complement corporate IT policies;
  • Provide guidance on and coordinate the purchase of IT-related equipment and infrastructure. and check the quality of the item procured;
  • Maintain all networking equipment (routers, switches, and Access Points) in both offices.
  • Advise on IT budgeting and IT operations planning in order to be proactive on new projects and improving existing projects.
  • Train users on IT systems and software usage.

 General Support:

  • Provide logistics and Office Support when required;
  • Support security focal point for TechnoServe Nigeria and provide advisory;
  • Be in charge of requesting and disbursing data/airtime for all TNS Nigeria staff on a monthly basis;
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Asset/Inventory:

  • Create, maintain and update the TNS Inventory/ Asset Register for TNS Nigeria.
  • Ensure all assets for TNS Nigeria are properly tagged and updated in the drive.
  • Conduct regular asset tracking and monitoring for all assets in the country office on a quarterly basis.
  • Complete and maintain a digital IT inventory of all office assets and equipment assigned and unassigned on a HQ-provided worksheet.
  • Convert the asset register into an interactive digital database
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and other relevant certifications with at least 2 years of experience in IT support and administration. Alternatively, 4 years experience in corporate work IT support and administration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would make a candidate more desirable.

2.) Business Advisor (NPSAP Project)

Job Summary

  • Working closely and being directly supervised by the Senior Business Advisor, the Business Advisor will play a critical role in the USAID and Coca-Cola's Nigeria Plastic Solutions Alliance Program (NPSAP) by overseeing advisory services and conducting all program activities and training services to beneficiaries, while also facilitating formal and informal networking and linkages with various stakeholders.
  • S/he will facilitate business linkages, gather market intelligence, and monitor performance.
  • The tasks outlined below are the key responsibilities of the business advisor, however, the employee will be expected to perform any tasks that are necessary within the context of the evolving needs of the project.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Project Inception Phase:

  • Provide support to short-term consultants during market analysis study which will include value chain mapping, enabling environment mapping, gender and social inclusion analysis.
  • Conduct recruitment/enrollment of program beneficiaries using predetermined criteria.
  • Assist the Senior Business Advisor and Project Lead in developing the detailed project work plan.

Project implementation:

  • Lead the implementation of the project's digital strategy, ensuring beneficiary adoption and engagement.
  • Facilitate training sessions for beneficiaries, monitoring attendance and engagement to ensure adherence to program guidelines.
  • Provide crucial linkages between plastic collectors and aggregators, and between aggregators and recyclers.
  • Collate feedback from the program beneficiaries through the program’s feedback mechanism.
  • Embody and promote TechnoServe’s values, vision, and strategy, ensuring these are integrated into all program activities.
  • Monitor the recruited plastic collectors, aggregators, and recyclers to ensure they are operating within the terms and conditions of the program’s agreement.
  • Participate in monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, contributing to the program's reporting and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure adherence to the program work plan, identifying and mitigating risks to successful project implementation.
  • Perform other duties in line with the evolving needs of the program.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Business Management, Marketing, Business Enterprise, Project Management, or relevant Social Sciences / Humanities related discipline with at least 3 years’ experience working with communities living on less than $2 a day in educating clients/beneficiaries on business development and marketing goals while nurturing relationship with relevant stakeholders. Alternatively, at least 1 year experience in similar field with a Masters degree.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with small and growing businesses for at least 2 years post NYSC as a plus.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, digital training delivery, and report writing.
  • Ability to engage and advise a broad range of stakeholders, including senior management of private sector companies, donor representatives, and others;
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing.
  • Experience in the waste management or recycling sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Comcare and KoBoCollect is advantageous.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required Languages: 

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Proficiency in the local languages of Anambra and Lagos states is highly desirable.

Travel: 

  • At least 40% of the time with willingness to travel to the project communities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experienced in writing excellent reports.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven skills with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of the use of Comcare, and KoBoCollect will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken Englis.

3.)  Project Driver

Job Summary

  • The project driver will work under the supervision of the senior program manager and ensure smooth, seamless, and safe movement of the project team and visitors during field monitoring activities.
  • S/he will ensure that the car is in excellent condition and performs optimally at all times.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery of documents, and other program related items while meeting official personnel and visitors at various locations.
  • Interpret travel policy and procedures, Staff Rules, administrative circulars, financial regulations, and rules on travel-related matters.
  • Maintain and contribute to policy information on fleet management.
  • Work within cost-saving methods through proper use of vehicle, accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, and provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tyres, brakes, car washing, etc.
  • Logs fuel consumption, maintenance, etc.
  • Work toward availability of required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts. Maintain updated records at all times.
  • Tactfully and effectively deal with officials and visitors using high emotional intelligence.
  • Ensure steps required by rules, regulations, and best practices are adhered to in case of an accident.
  • Apply good judgment in the context of assignments given.
  • With good knowledge of defensive driving, apply rules and regulations, and internal and external policies.
  • Provide physical labor services in the relocation of offices and staff moves and provides support for meetings and conferences.
  • Be cordial and respectful to clients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Steady compliance with the policy in all conduct of activities.
  • Provide basic security management support in applying innovative techniques to assess and mitigate risk, especially within the location of work.
  • Provide other project-related support assistance as may be assigned Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum relevant qualification from a secondary academic institution, National diploma, or Higher National Diploma in any Art or social science field.
  • Valid Driver’s license- Class B or D
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of driving in Lagos State and its environs for at least 3 years.
  • Required Languages: Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
