Over the last three years the Consumer Planning and Research team has been transformed within the Diageo business moving away from research orientation towards planning with focus on pro-activity, research to drive growth, and actionable consumer understanding and insights.

We are recruiting for the position of:


Purpose/Context/Scope
The Stock Accounting manager will be implementing stock control policies as it relates to all company stocks in all locations including breweries and third party locations pan Nigeria including controls over goods in transit.

Leadership Responsibilities
The Stock Accounting Manager has the leadership responsibility for three (3) direct reports and a total team of five (5) people
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Graduate caliber, minimum 5 years relevant post qualification experience with proven integrity.
  • Analytical, interpretative and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent coaching and relationship building skills.
  • Good communication skill
  • Professional qualification (ICAN/ACCA/ACA) is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of SAP is mandatory
  • Proven ability to facilitate, persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and all functions.

Barriers to Success in Role
  • Inability to manage relationships with varied stakeholders
  • Poor communication skills
  • Limited knowledge of Excel and SAP

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the Stock accounting ledger in SAP
  • Perform the Reconciliation of Stock Accounts
  • Coordinate regular/periodic stock counts in all locations including depots and grains warehouses
  • Provide ad-hoc reports on inventory/stock
  • Ensure adequacy of Stock provisions
  • Management and control of all forms of Good-in-transit accounts
  • Implement all Controls Audit and Risk Management (CARM) guidelines as it relates to stock management
