We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Account Officer

Job Location: Festac, Lagos

Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance

Job Summary

  • The Junior Finance Officer will support the Finance Department in managing the hospital’s financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Accounting:

  • Assist in recording daily financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journal entries.
  • Support the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, and receivable records.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, bills, and supplier payments.
  • Monitor and track petty cash expenses and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax compliance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget tracking and variance analysis for hospital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain financial documentation and ensure proper filing of records.
  • Assist with audits by preparing required financial data and documentation.

Revenue & Expense Management:

  • Monitor hospital revenue streams and ensure accurate billing and payment tracking.
  • Support revenue collection by following up on outstanding payments from patients and insurers.
  • Work with other departments to ensure proper expense management and cost control.
  • Identify discrepancies and report any financial irregularities to the Finance Manager.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

  • Work closely with procurement, HR, and administrative teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and internal controls.
  • Provide recommendations for improving financial efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Assist in any other financial duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or senior management

Experience

  • Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary
N100,000 - N140,000 Monthly.
