We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Accountant
Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
  • The ideal candidate will assist with financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and general ledger maintenance.
  • This role offers growth potential and the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and monthly management accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
  • Support accounts payable and receivable activities
  • Monitor and update fixed asset registers
  • Assist with tax and statutory filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
  • Track and maintain petty cash, staff retirements, and advance payments
  • Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and schedules
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for financial documents
  • Perform any other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a structured organization
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong ethics and a high level of integrity

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and bookkeeping best practices
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 per month.
