Job Position: Legal Officer / Executive Assistant

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time


About the Role

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Legal Officer / Executive Assistant to provide strategic legal support while assisting the CEO with executive tasks.
  • The legal component of this role is the priority, and the ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • You will manage contracts, compliance, and corporate legal matters, ensuring the company operates within the law. Alongside this, you will support the CEO with scheduling, correspondence, and other administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Responsibilities (Primary Focus):

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare reports for management.
  • Support dispute resolution and liaise with external law firms.
  • Ensure all legal documents are accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive legal matters.

Executive Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, meetings, and communications.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and executive documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, events, and travel logistics.
  • Perform other administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.

Requirements

  • LLB or equivalent law degree; a Master’s or professional legal certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
