Greenville LNG Company Limited is the pioneer Domestic LNG producer in Nigeria with the objective of extending gas supplies to regions not reached by gas pipelines thereby making available a competitive source of energy to boost the economy. Greenville LNG Plant is in Rumuji near Port-Harcourt and has customer locations in Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Enugu, Sokoto, Aba and other cities nationwide.

Job Role


  • Oversee the development and implementation of Greenville’s upstream business strategies, objectives and plans to achieve upstream gas. 
  • Participating in expansion activities including investments, acquisition and corporate alliances.
  • Identify new opportunities and potential areas to harness gas for Greenville LNG and oversee Upstream Operations Management. 
  • Implement advanced technologies and best practices to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. 
  • Engage with eternal communities, government agencies (NNPC, NUPRC) and other relevant stakeholders concerning Greenville’s upstream business portfolio.
  • Ensure adequate training and performance management support is provided for the development of core upstream personnel. Upstream Budgeting and Financial Management. 
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all subsurface data, well completions report, development and exploration drilling programs as well as requite workover programs for gas development. 
  • Optimize gas reservoir management strategies to enhance production rates and extend the life of existing assets that is connected to the sustenance of gas for Greenville LNG
  • Develop and manage the upstream division's budget, forecasting revenues and expenses. 
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and opportunities for revenue growth. 
  • Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions when necessary. Upstream Risk Management.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with upstream activities. 
  • Implement effective risk management strategies and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Adequate knowledge of various technologies involved to select most economical methods from Well to plant. 
  • Manage and direct the E&P Operations in a safe and efficient manner. 
  • Achieve desired production and injection targets consistent with the reservoir management plan of the joint venture 
  • Responsible for data gathering, well and flowline integrity, safety, efficiency, and ensuring environmentally compliant operations 
  • Manage Well Operations and Production Operations teams comprising contractors for the same. 
  • Track service company performance and issues and interface with contractors to resolve key performance issues. 
  • Key interface with Operations Teams in the field and liaison with Management Team 
  • May be called on to deputise for the Field Manager. 
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for all daily well operations including - Coil Tubing Interventions, Slickline work, e-line work, well test, and data collection operations. 
  • Responsible for the strategy, planning, and continuity of all workovers and completions 
  • Manage revisions to Well Operations Procedures and designs.
  • Conduct a maintenance program of all surfaces well sites, roads, wellhead equipment and offsite valves. Work with various departments as needed to perform repairs for all well location, pipeline, location, road, and manifold repairs.
  • Conduct daily production allocation to ensure that all well operating parameters are correctly reported, and all production/injection fluids have been correctly allocated back to each field. 
  • Utilize pipeline modelling software to enhance production and injection performance. Propose improvements to the pipeline system as needed. 
  • Ensure the continuity of the pipeline integrity program for all systems. 
  • Ensure that all production and well operations are conducted in accordance with HSE procedures and standards. Investigate and report any HSE related issues or incident.
  • Ensuring that the integrity and safe operability of all wells, lines, manifolds, and offsite facilities comply with industry and regulatory standards. 
  • Provide information for regulatory and HSE reports of any leaks and spills of oil, gas, and water that MAY occur outside the CPF. 
  • Direct the contractor safety program to promote safe work practices of contract service providers.

Other Responsibilities shall include:

  • Effective oversight of profit and Loss (PNL) performance and general upstream management. 
  • Any other duty as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • The suitable candidate must have an Engineering Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior Upstream role in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Well-known in Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry, NNPC, NUPRC, MOP&G and several other regulators. Must have worked with these regulators for acquiring the Gas or Oil Fields.
  • Good Knowledge of all the OML & OPL Fields of Nigeria with the availability of Gas and ownership/operatorship right of the field with broad based petroleum industry experience.
  • Knowledge of entire route planning of the Gas pipelines closure to the company plants and to mitigate business risk while venturing in Gas Field business.
  • Overall knowledge of entire Gas & Oil gamut, technical competency required for Gas production, operation and transportation of Gas to company plant.
  • Adequate knowledge of various technologies involved to select most economical methods from Well to plant.
  • Work history to be biased towards production engineering and/or well operations
  • Superior technical skills in well operations and surface operations
  • Working knowledge of reservoir engineering 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineers and field personnel to direct surface operations and downhole well interventions 
  • Work experience in multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Ability to influence cooperation with other departments • Strong HSE mind-set 
  • Strong administrative and project management skills 
  • Proficient in the use of standard software packages (MS Office, etc.)
  • Experience working internationally would be an advantage, particularly in remote and culturally diverse environments
  • French language skills would be an advantage.
