St. Ives Specialist Hospital is a multi-specialist hospital which opened in 1996. The hospital offers dedicated specialist services in all matters of women, children and family health, managed by a group of consultants in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Medicine & Surgery.

Job Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Location: Akowonjo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids or tissues.
• Examine cells and cultures to find abnormalities.
• Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
• Interpret and record test results.
• Collect and handle patient samples with precision to avoid contamination or error.
• Prepare samples for analysis, including processing, staining, and preserving as necessary.
• Always maintain lab safety by following safe handling and quality control processes and wearing proper protective gear. This includes maintaining a sterile lab environment to avoid any cross-contamination of specimens and samples.
• Maintain laboratory logs to track samples and specimens, recording when these materials are moved to various areas within the lab so they can be accessed quickly as needed.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal regulations related to laboratory practices.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including the proper handling of hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 2–5 years of experience.

Salary
N280,000 monthly.
