About the Role

  • We are recruiting for a client, a leading European company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of customized agro-products. They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager.
  • This role is a critical leadership position within their Nigeria operations, where you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing logistics, and upholding high standards of efficiency and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management. Oversee office and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient management of supplies, equipment, and facilities. Manage inventory, coordinate repairs, and maintain a well-organized and secure workspace.
  • Compliance and Documentation. Ensure compliance with local regulations by managing necessary permits, licenses, and statutory requirements. Oversee document retention for tax, legal, and regulatory purposes.
  • Financial Oversight. Issue and manage invoices, ensuring compliance with tax and financial regulations. Regularly review and manage office administration expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Contract and Regulatory Compliance. Maintain vendor and supplier contracts, ensuring all terms are met. Track and update necessary licenses, permits, and other statutory documents as required.
  • Logistics and Warehousing. Oversee day-to-day operations of warehousing and logistics functions, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. Ensure customs clearance and compliance for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Banking and Financial Transactions. Manage financial transactions, including handling banking activities, securing payments, and safeguarding company funds.
  • Data Management. Perform data entry and maintain accurate records for employee files, financial data, contracts, shipment documentation, and other company data.
  • Staff Supervision and Compliance. Manage personnel as required, ensuring adherence to company policies, attendance, and safety protocols. Communicate relevant policies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws.

Educational and Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or any advanced degreeor relevant business management or operations certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a similar role within operations management, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management. Experience within the agriculture or agro-product supply industry is highly preferred.

Qualifying Skills:

  • Strong understanding of office, warehouse, and facility management, with proven experience in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing supplies, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian tax, labor, and import/export regulations, as well as experience handling compliance with local laws and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets, monitor expenses, issue invoices, and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with regulations.
  • Expertise in managing customs clearance, warehousing, and logistics for inventory, including both receiving and distribution processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
  • Proficient with ERP Systems or similar platforms for operations and inventory management.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Capacity to identify challenges and provide effective solutions to enhance operational performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external vendors/suppliers.
