New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) is a non- governmental organization established under the Nigeria law dedicated to providing crucial support to individuals displaced by insurgency and crises to survival, recover and rebuild their lives.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Procurement Assistant

Job Location: Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months

Job Summary


  • The Procurement Assistant will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and contract management.
  • He / She will gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, contributing to the organization's operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with procurement processes, including tendering and bidding
  • Support contract management and vendor selection
  • Maintain procurement records and databases
  • Conduct market research and supplier identification
  • Help with purchase order processing and invoicing
  • Support procurement reporting and compliance
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control
  •  Carryout all documents photocopying, scanning, archiving procurement files &reception of goods.
  • Proper filing of all procurement documents.
  • Sending a request for feedback regarding suppliers’ performance & update supplier files.
  • Ensuring that all Supplies, services, and equipment required are delivered in time
  • Expedite suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and address any delays or issues.
  • Maintain and update the asset inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping for office equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filling of logistics documents for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Support any assign task in the organization.
  • Assist in data entry and updating databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Follow-up internally between the Procurement and Logistics department and the Finance department on procurement-related transactions.
  • Support in the asset disposal process in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Following the guidance of the procurement staff, to ensure that all fields’ goods, to be dispatched along with all the needed documentation (Waybill).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to build and maintain good working relationships.

Job Requirements

  • ND / Diploma qualification, B.Sc Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics and Business Administration.
  • Basic understanding of operations and logistics management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Hausa or local languages is an asset.
