Job Position: Procurement Officer
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a meticulous and strategic Procurement Officer to manage and optimize the purchasing and supply of goods and services for our new hospital in Port Harcourt.
  • The Procurement Officer will ensure that procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the purchase of medical equipment, supplies, and operational necessities.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with vendors.
  • Collaborate with inventory teams to monitor stock levels and determine purchasing needs.
  • Ensure timely restocking to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Ensure procurement activities adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
  • Conduct vendor performance evaluations periodically.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or standards.
  • Analyze procurement expenses and prepare reports for management.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand procurement requirements and priorities.
  • Provide regular updates on procurement activities and challenges.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the healthcare sector.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
