Role Summary

• Wigwe University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Officer (PRO) to join our team.
• This role is crucial in shaping the university’s public image, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance the university’s reputation.
• Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews, and public statements.
• Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring clarity and consistency.
• Coordinate events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives.
• Monitor public perception and advise leadership on PR strategies.
• Manage the university’s social media presence and digital communications.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of proven experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage crisis communication and handle sensitive issues professionally.
• Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• A resident of Rivers State would be ideal.
