SOBIC and Company is a rapidly expanding, opportunity-creating, and customer-focused microfinance Institution (MFI) in Nigeria. A member, of the Association of Non-Bank Microfinance Institutions of Nigeria (ANMFIN), the company registered in July 2008 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with head office located at Ibadan having severalbranches across the states.

Job Description / Responsibilities


  • Our Organization seeks an organized and proactive Recruitment Officer with experience in the Microfinance industry. 
  • As a Recruitment Officer, you will be key in managing the day-to-day HR operations. 
  • This position offers an opportunity to help build a positive workplace culture, support staff development, and ensure compliance with HR policies. 
  • A recruitment officer's duties encompass sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified staff, ensuring the institution's operational needs are met with the right talent.

Core Responsibilities

Recruitment Planning:

  • Identifying staffing needs and developing recruitment strategies.
  • Determining job requirements and writing job descriptions.

Sourcing and Attracting Candidates:

  • Using various channels (job boards, social media, networking) to find potential candidates.
  • Attending job fairs and recruitment events.

Screening and Selection:

  • Reviewing resumes and applications.
  • Conducting interviews (phone, video, in-person).
  • Administering assessments and tests.
  • Evaluating candidates based on skills, experience, and cultural fit.

Offer Management:

  • Negotiating salary and benefits packages.
  • Making job offers and ensuring candidates accept them.

Onboarding:

  • Coordinating the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Ensuring new employees have the necessary resources and training.

Data Management:

  • Maintaining accurate records of recruitment activities and candidates.
  • Using applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage the recruitment process.

Compliance:

  • Ensuring all recruitment practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • May be involved in employee relations and retention efforts.
  • May assist with training and development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Applicant must be a B.Sc or HND holder in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • He/She must have at least 3 years experience in the Microfinance industry.
  • Professional Qulaification in CIPM or any related well-recognized professional hr certifications will be an added advantage.
  • He/She must be willing to reside in Ibadan.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
