Job Description

• As a Senior Backend Engineer at iRecharge, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the backbone of our innovative payment platform.
• You will be responsible for architecting scalable systems, ensuring optimal performance, and integrating advanced payment solutions. Your expertise will shape the technical foundation of our platform, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability as we grow

Responsibilities
Backend Development:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, efficient, and secure server-side applications.
• Optimize APIs to ensure fast, reliable, and secure transactions.

Architecture & Infrastructure:

• Design and implementation of the system architecture to support high traffic and data loads.
• Ensure microservices or modular architecture for scalability and maintainability.

Integration & Payment Processing

• Integrate third-party APIs for payments, billing, and subscription management.
• Implement and manage secure payment gateways and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS).

Team Collaboration

• Mentor junior developers and provide code reviews to ensure best practices.
• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Performance & Security
• Monitor and improve application performance, reliability, and security.
• Address potential vulnerabilities and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering/Development or any other related discipline. A Masters degree would be an added advantage but is not mandatory.
• 5+ years in backend development, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Programming Languages/Frameworks: Proficiency in languages such as TypeScript (NodeJS/Express), C# (ASP.Net core), PHP/Laravel.
• APIs: Proven experience designing and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Databases: Expertise in both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Development: Possess strong understanding ofEvent Driven Architecture and Microservices Design Pattern
• Cloud: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Security: Strong knowledge of authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT) and encryption.
• Testing: Familiarity with unit and integration testing frameworks.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Familiarity with fintech standards and compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
• Experience with Financial Technology Sector
