Job Position: Shipment Documentation Officer (Export / Import)
Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Reports to: Logistics / Shipping Manager
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Shipment Documentation Officer to join our logistics team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing all export and import documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process export and import documentation, including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Bills of lading
- Airway bills
- Certificates of origin
- Other relevant documents
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including:
- Customs regulations
- Export control regulations
- Sanctions and embargoes
- Other relevant regulations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth clearance of shipments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including documentation and tracking information
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Identify and resolve documentation issues and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, laws, and company policies, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in shipment documentation, export/import operations, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of export and import regulations, including customs procedures and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
