Job Position: Short Fiction Writer
Job Location: Lagos (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are seeking a talented short fiction romance writer to join our creative team and consistently produce compelling content.
• The Short Fiction Romance Writer will be responsible for creating original, high-quality romance stories, typically 50,000 words per book, aligned with our brand voice and audience preferences. You will deliver content on a monthly basis, maintaining creativity, emotional depth, and engaging storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Write original short romance fiction according to assigned themes or storylines.
• Develop compelling characters, engaging plots, and emotional arcs.
• Ensure stories are well-edited, coherent, and ready for publication.
• Adhere to daily word count targets as agreed (2,000 words/day).
• Collaborate with the editorial team for feedback and revisions.
• Meet deadlines consistently.

Requirements

• Proven experience in writing romance fiction (short stories, novellas, or serialized content).
• Strong creative writing skills and understanding of romance tropes.
• Ability to write engaging, emotionally resonant content that captivates readers.
• Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and storytelling structure.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work remotely and independently.
• Portfolio of previous work or western billionaire romance writing samples preferred.

Additional:

• Genres: Contemporary, billionaire, college, vampire romance.

Compensation

• Monthly pay: ?100,000 – ?200,000 depending on experience, skill and output.
